4 out of 5 stars Great pedal for most guitarists , 2010-08-08

I have been play guitar for 18 years now. Have had a variety of pedals over the years. THis is currently the pedal I use. I was inspired to buy a line 6 after hearing the quality of their effects from other guitarists in my church band.

This is a very good pedal for the price. There are absolutely excellent sounds effects. With all the customizable amps and effects, you really can get just about any sound that you want. AC/DC, Led Zepellin, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creed, Collective Soul are some of the bands I like to cover and this pedal can recreate all their sounds. The great thing is that you don't have to have a fancy amplifier. This pedal sounds great connected directly to the PA system. ALso sounds great connecting my acoustic through it. The wah/volume pedal is easy to switch on/off and sounds great. I had a crybaby wah pedal that I never use now because of this pedal. The quality of the effects are comparable to those of the XT live, though I think that pedal has a few more effects than this, but to be honest, I don't even use all the sounds on this pedal as there are so many to chose from.

A couple of drawbacks: It doesn't have digital display/interface like the XT live pedal. ALso, there is no USB output for digital recording, so keep that in mind. If you want a truly professional footpedal, pay the extra dough and get the XT live. But for me, I wanted professional sound for a cheaper price and this is the pedal for me. ALso is much less complicated than the XT live. Easily customizable, and comes with some great presets.

Oh, and btw, the case for the XT live fits this pedal perfectly.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome Pedal Board , 2010-04-18

This Line 6 Pedal Board is an excellent buy. Has hundreds of effects and sounds all packed into one small package. The all in one package is extremely helpful for doing gigs and shows, very easy to travel with and plug in. At first you need to read the instructions carefully to know how to get the sound you want, but after that you can get the hang of it quite fast. They have amazing sounds and effects, the only thing i can say that is a negative is that it was difficult at first to understand, and changing effects is a little annoying because if its on the floor you have to keep bending down to change the knobs. On top of that, saving your own effects into each pedal is awesome for songs with different effects in it. I would definitely recommend this product for beginners to advance guitar players looking to get a cheap but excellent traveling pedal board with premium effects.

4 out of 5 stars Still works like day one , 2010-04-18

Purchased this pedal for my son before Christmas. He uses it almost every day and travels with it on the weekends. Seems durable and works well for his needs. Quality is nice for the price, not as rugged as the higher end models but sturdy. I also purchased the Line 6 bag and it's well worth it for gigs to keep it safe.

So far, all of our Line 6 gear has been rock solid!

2 out of 5 stars I was very disappointed... , 2009-06-07

I bought this pedal a couple months ago because my dad fried my Digitech RP350. I was so excited about this pedal because A, Its a new pedal, B, my friends line 6 amp sounds awesome, C, It was more expensive than the RP350 and it had some good reviews around the internet.

Let me tell you now, I would never waste $200 on this thing ever again. I played around with it when i got it and was overwhelmed (not in a bad way, so much stuff!!!) I started in the "Back in Black" setting which is 1A and I was thinking this pedal is awesome. After that i tried to find what I would be using the most: High distortion for metal riffs. The first I found was 2D which gave some meaty distortion. Great right? Wrong. Once you throw some gain into the picture you will have to turn the gate up over half way to cut the feedback you get from it. I had to go through and test each preset and if it hummed then I set the gate on it. Thats a pain and it takes away from the sound of my Les Paul.

On the upside, it has 1-32, A-D presets. Thats awesome! There are a lot of effects and the FloorPOD is easy to use. It is up to you whether you get this pedal or not but i highly suggest saving your money. I bought it about a month and a half ago and just laid down $300 and got the Digitech RP500 because I trust Digitech now. No more Line 6 for me for a while.

4 out of 5 stars Great Product! , 2009-04-29

I could not be happier with this pedal. I had a Boss effects pedal that I could never get to sound right unless I played through an amp. I'm a Youth Pastor, and play guitar for my church twice a week, and find it difficult to get a good mix if I'm not able to plug into a direct box. A friend of mine had a Pod "bean" that I played through for Christmas and was blown away by the sound that was able to come out of that little thing. I needed to be able to switch sounds with my feet, so I went with the floor POD. It does not disappoint. I am able to get a better sound with headphones plugged straight into this pedal than I was playing through my amp with previous pedals.

The only down side, and it's relatively minor. I use a BOSS tuning pedal, and although this comes with a built in tuner, the two tuners do not agree (try saying that 5 times fast). If I tune with my BOSS pedal, the POD shows me being sharp. The BOSS has always been consistant, so I will continue to use it. Also, if tuning with the POD pedal, the sound does not automatically shut off, instead it kills all of the effects but continues to play through the PA.

I would HIGHLY reccommend this product, but would still go with a BOSS tuning pedal.
